As a collector of musical instruments, it was not until I started my journey of collecting old piano parts that would otherwise be discarded, that I realized the essence of each instrument.

About the Event
I enjoy listening to and celebrating what these pianos have meant to each person and family. I have much gratitude for people inviting me to their homes and sharing dear stories of their past. This has truly been an unexpected pleasure. A favourite part for me has been finding random items under the keys. Some instruments are more than a century old. I almost always find a playing card or two and some coins. Old game pieces, pencils, coupons and written notes are frequently recovered. Once, I found a first grade class photo of a dear woman’s grandson that must have fallen through the keys a couple decades previous.
All the red wine stains, cracks and chips in the keys are left as a representation of the life of the keys. Honouring the wear and tear is part of the authenticity of my art.
Join me in celebrating and revealing…
